There’s a reason leather has never gone out of style—and never will. But not all leather is created equal, and not all leather is meant to stay the same.
At POLA, we don’t design products to look perfect forever. We design them to evolve.
What Makes POLA Leather Different
We use full-grain vegetable-tanned leather—the highest quality leather available. This isn’t the overly processed, plastic-coated material you’ll find in mass production. This is real leather, in its most honest form.
It comes from two primary sources:
– Spanish vegetable-tanned leather from world-renowned tanneries
– Montana-sourced leather from American cattle
For interiors, we use premium Italian leather, which we tint and finish ourselves.
Every piece is paired with solid brass hardware, chosen for the same reason as our leather: it doesn’t stay the same—it gets better.
Understanding Patina (The Good Kind of Change)
Here’s the truth most brands won’t say:
Perfect leather is boring.
Great leather tells a story.
Over time, your POLA piece will:
- Deepen in color
- Soften in feel
- Develop subtle marks and tonal shifts
- Reflect how you actually live your life
That transformation is called patina—and it’s the entire point.
Your bag might sit next to you in a meeting one day and on the ground at a job site the next. It might travel, get handled, get sunlight, pick up character. That’s not damage—that’s identity.
No two pieces will ever age the same. And that’s exactly how it should be.
Leather Care (Simple, Not Complicated)
Taking care of your leather doesn’t require a 10-step routine. In fact, overthinking it usually does more harm than good.
Can leather get wet?
Yes—but don’t push it.
Leather can handle small amounts of moisture, but because ours is vegetable-tanned and dyed for that rich, vintage character, too much water can affect the finish.
If it gets wet:
- Let it air dry naturally
- Avoid heat (no hair dryers, no vents)
- Condition it once dry if needed
How often should you condition it?
Every 6–12 months is a solid rule of thumb.
If you live in a dry climate (like Texas), lean closer to every 6 months. If it’s more humid, you can stretch it out.
Will conditioner darken the leather?
Slightly, yes.
That’s part of the process—but always test a small hidden area first if you want to be precise.
Will my leather fade?
No—not like cheaper materials.
Instead of fading, high-quality leather deepens. Sunlight, handling, and natural oils will slowly enrich the tone over time.
Want to speed up the aging process?
Use it.
That’s it.
If you really want to accelerate the look, a light application of mink oil can help—but honestly, daily life does the best job.
The POLA Philosophy
We don’t believe in products that peak the day you buy them.
We believe in products that earn their character.
Your wallet, your bag, your belt—these aren’t accessories you replace every year. They’re things that move with you through your life:
- Airports
- Job sites
- Late nights
- Big wins
- Everyday routines
And over time, they become unmistakably yours.
